Gary, Elaine, Lee,
Captain Ed, Intelligent Sailing, Harborage Marina, 34'
We had the whole of Tampa Bay all day...only 2 other sails visible and both far away. Weather was clear and bright...about mid 70s... winds light (boat speed 3-5 knots) and continuous. Captain Ed, retired Navy, could not hold himself back... a trainer at heart Elaine and Gary (with decades of racing with many, many trophies) also taught me lots. I was in heaven. The salty dog stories of sails along the coast and in the islands filled the day. (The Annapolis Boat Show was ramping up so that might have created the 'missing' sails on Tampa Bay. )
PS: Gary worked hard today.
We left the Villages 8am. On the water by 10:30. back in the car by 4pm. Slugged thru Tampa commuter traffic and made it home at 7pm. A full but gorgeous day.
Suggestion: go to "The Hanger" for dinner or atleast hor d'oeuvres before heading home... Tampa traffic will subside. Word is great views and reasonable prices.
